Assistant Merchandiser

Working exclusively with my client, a unique global business, to find an Assistant Merchandiser. The objective of this role is to support the Buying & Merchandising teams to maximise commercial opportunities through the effective management of inventory, driving sales through improved availability, forecasting and maximising profit.

As the merchandising point of contact for a number of internal departments, vendors, area managers etc, you will conduct store visits to review stock packages, join the buyer on vendor meetings and assist with the development of allocators in the team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with strong analytical / merchandising skills looking to join a dynamic business.

*Provide a weekly summary of performance relating to sales, stock, profit, and markdown versus budget and last year
*Partner with the buying teams to create seasonal strategies and forecasts for designated categories.
*Provide historical analysis to develop forward forecasts and key contact for all analysis
*Manage stock intake flow into business to hit monthly forecasts, drive sales and minimise risks
*Work with the Allocators to control inventory levels, allocations and replenishment to stores as required
*Provide analysis and summary of markdown and promotional activity
*Responsible for ensuring that markdowns are on the system in line with the mark down cube
*Presenting the weekly trade performance for the designated category
*Interact with other teams to improve performance and drive best practices
*Supporting the buying function in building and optimising ranges
*Create and maintaining Joint Supplier Business Plans together with Buying/Merchandising teams
*Conduct detailed ad-hoc analysis when required on specific locations, brands and products/product groups

*Advanced planning and analytical skills, including strong IT skills
*Good judgement and decision-making skills
*Confidence in suggesting calculated risks
*Strong customer demographic awareness and understanding
*Professional and well spoken, with excellent communication skills
*Must be organised, methodical and efficient with excellent time keeping skills & the ability to meet stringent deadlines
*A desire to learn and develop skills further within the merchandising function
