Exclusively recruiting for client for a newly created role as either a Buying Assistant or Assistant Buyer (dependent on experience). The role will support the Buyer to create, deliver and maintain exciting bespoke product ranges with the aim to meet sales budgets and protect margin. Represent your category and the company by maintaining positive relationships whilst negotiating terms and pricing.

Role:
*Assist with product development and selection in line with requirements (keep up to date with trends, manage approval process of new products)
*Price negotiation
*Sample management and creating and managing new briefs with global suppliers
*Creating, implementing and managing critical paths to ensure timely delivery of new product launches
*Sku and PO management
*Ensure all system information (pricing, product data, technical info) is maintained so they are accurate and up to date
*Support the Buyer with the maintenance of the category range
*Demonstrate and understand the impact of all range decisions on Retained Margin % and Value for the business, negotiating the best terms and deals to achieve budget
*Liaise closely with the Merchandising team on range performance and selection
*Work with the Merchandising team on Supplier forecasting, to ensure budgets are met and good availability/stock levels are maintained
*Working cross functionally with merchandising, marketing, store operations, accounts, customer services

Candidate:
*Product development experience is preferred
*Previous experience within a retail buying environment is a bonus
*Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail is crucial
*Adaptable attitude towards change
*Excellent PC skills that include; Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
*Structured planning, organisation and time management skills
