*The primary purpose of the SAP ABAP Developer role is to support the business in delivering business outcomes by designing, developing, troubleshooting and supporting the software code and configuration in use across all modules within the SAP environment.
*Work closely with external SAP partners ensuring that changes delivered by third party suppliers are of an appropriate level of quality and performance and deliver the required business functionality.
*Work with senior stakeholders across the business, suggesting improvements and enhancements to fully exploit the business systems.
*Design, develop and deliver business critical programmes, project activities and business change requests and provide support for the businesses SAP system, resolving system issues.
*Create and document viable specifications and high-level designs in preparation for the delivery of new or changed business processes, programmes and functionality
*To manage and co-ordinate the development process, validating and monitoring the time, quality and cost of the solution
*To match system developments with SAP standard functionality where possible. All work must be completed to development standards, following the recognised SAP standard system processes
Essential skills / Background:
*ABAP development experience including working extensively on bespoke programmes and transactions, interfaces, SAPScripts and general and interactive reporting and will have worked with a variety of SAP environments 4.6, 4.7, ECC6
*ABAP development with SD, MM, FI, WM, CO or PP modules
*Demonstrable experience working with business roles to develop requirements which can then be turned into workable solutions
*Produce formal requirements and specification documents
*Experience or previous involvement in an SAP upgrade (preferably to 4.7 or later)
*IT business analysis experience
*Development of test scripts using Automated Test Tools
*Experience of data transferring tools
