The successful 1st Line IT Support Engineer will provide effective and proactive IT assistance across all aspects of the business and provide back up and support to the other members of the IT support team. The position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Desktop operating systems, plus general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software. The position will provide exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities, as well as growing the individuals IT knowledge and range of skills.
After training, you will:
*Provide a can do positive attitude to support users.
*Set up new workstations (PC/Windows with some Apple Macs)
*Provide Desktop support and resolve IT problems onsite
*Configuring, supporting and troubleshooting: desktop, printers, and network cables, including patching
*Liaise with and raise all complex IT issues with both our outsourced IT provider and other senior members of the team
*Logging and managing job tickets
*Escalate IT issues to management where necessary
*Staff Training (where appropriate)
*Monitor web and email filters
*Support small and medium IT projects where applicable
*Create and manage a log of IT inventory and ensure sufficient spares are available
*Installing authorised software to laptops and desktops
*Ensuring security/antivirus installation and upgrades are applied to desktops and laptops and kept up to date
*Completing internal user moves including phones
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Knowledge of Windows 10
*Attention to detail
*Problem solving ability
*Well organised, enthusiastic and self-motivated
*Valid UK driving license - some travel is expected between sites
*Previous experience of 1st line working
*Set up a PC from scratch within a business network
*MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) in Desktop Support
*Strong office domain network background
*Held previous stand-alone IT Support position
