Key relationships - The .Net Developer will work with other Lead Engineers, Architects and Product Owners to shape the future of software development within the business, including the adoption of new tools, frameworks and techniques. The Lead. Net Software Engineer will also mentor junior staff and be active in building our engineering community.
Ideal technical background - The ideal candidate will have experience of some of the following: ASP.Net, MVC, Automated unit and system testing, WPF, Xamarin, Team Foundation Server, Cloud platforms, e.g. Azure, VSTS.
*Consort with the Software Development Team to ensure that business standards, principles and policies are maintained and adhered to.
*Mentor the other technical staff, including trainees, and transfer knowledge and experience to Lead Software Engineers outside the team as well as provide assurance on 3rd party developments.
*Contribute, alongside other development peers with the Software Development group, in setting and raising the standards of development across the business.
*Accountable for the quality of deliverables from one or more software development teams
*Accountable for one or more development teams following business standard processes (code reviews, unit testing, ALM processes, source code management etc.) and following our technology baseline
*Will be responsible for hands on development in .Net, and will have a responsibility within staying up-to-date with software development best practice and influencing future standard practices
*An advanced understanding of the .Net framework
*Experience in providing technical leadership including the enforcement of quality practices
*Broad knowledge of design principles and patterns, able to lead the design of systems or components
*A broad range of commercial experience, including crafting good quality code in C#
*Able to work collaboratively, sharing information and building supportive, responsive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
*Open to change, suggesting ideas for improvements to the way things are done, and working in smarter, more focused ways.
