All good resourcing begins with truly understanding the underlying business requirements behind the role; with leadership roles this is especially critical. We work with our clients to answer key questions up-front – what does the business need to achieve, what needs to be done so that this happens, and what mix of experience, skills and character attributes is required to ensure these objectives are met? This questioning process helps to clarify both the need and your key message to candidates.
With our target candidate profile in mind we then undertake a thorough market mapping exercise to identify where these people currently are (sector, company, location, level in career etc) and what methods we must use to reach and engage with them.
Next we prepare a comprehensive candidate pack and take your unique message to market using a broad and thorough mix of activity, including relevant demographically targeted advertising, deep data mining, various social media tools, physical networking and – of course – traditional proactive phone-based search. This complex and time consuming attraction process is key to generating sufficient and relevant candidate interest, and this part of the process is undertaken exclusively by one of our expert recruiters. The additional business intelligence thus gathered is often invaluable, too.
Having sourced a suitable pool of talent and successfully engaged them with your offering we conduct a three-stage assessment process prior to presenting our final shortlist. Firstly, a thorough desk-based review of information (cv, social media profiles, references, education/qualifications etc), secondly, a face to face meeting/interview and, thirdly, a formal assessment relevant to the type of role being hired (typically a mixture of leadership and technical/scenario-based assessments). Notes, recommendations and risk-assessments are presented at shortlisting alongside CV and a portfolio of supporting evidence.
